Quantum Bets, AI Healthtech Hype, & Fashion-Tech Meltdown
From billion-dollar biotech moves to a $500M quantum campus, today’s VC news is pure fire. More VCs raise funds and enter the market. More funding, more innovation, more energy, more passion.

Your dose of daily dealflow, essential VC & tech trends to know. The biggest moves in venture, all in one place. Celebrating startups, founders, and funders.

🧑🍳 Let’s get right into it…
AI cash floods healthtech. AI healthtech funding doubled YoY, hitting a five-year high and snagging 21% of all healthcare VC. Admin-focused AI tools pulled in 44% of the money—because cutting costs is the fastest way to win.
Biotech funds thin, but bold. Only 4 biotech VC funds closed in Q1 (vs. hundreds in 2021). Yet Omega Funds just landed $647M for its oversubscribed Fund VIII—big money still flows to life sciences.
Illinois drops $500M on quantum. JB and Penny Pritzker are building a $500M quantum mega-campus in Chicago to house startups like Infleqtion and PsiQuantum. Quantum just got real.
CaaStle CEO in hot water. Fashion-tech unicorn CaaStle’s co-founder, Christine Hunsicker, was arrested for fake audits, cooked fundraising numbers, and shady secondary deals. SEC and DOJ are coming in swinging.
